TRUE AIMIMPACT

EXAMPLE SCENARIO

A second chapter for 50 internet gateways

Example supplier program · 2026-09-01 to 2026-09-30

Generated 2026-09-16 · Model 1.0 · Public demonstration

Illustrative example only. Quantities and recovery assumptions illustrate a planning scenario. Product weights and production references are identified separately below. This report does not describe True Aim’s completed results or an actual supplier partnership.

Estimated avoided emissions

484 kg CO₂eAssessed batches only · scenario estimate

Units planned for reuse

40 units50 units received across 1 batches

Product mass planned for recirculation

30 kgWeight supplied for 40 of 40 reused units; packaging excluded

Activity records are provided by the report preparer. Carbon estimates are not independently verified. Reported mass does not establish landfill diversion or avoided virgin material use.

Calculation and assumptions

Reused units × new purchase replacement × equivalent service × production reference − batch processing − batch transport − use phase difference.

New purchase replacement: 50%. Equivalent service: 50%.

Public demonstration. Quantities, product weight, recovery burdens and the 50% replacement and equivalent service assumptions are fictional inputs, not measured True Aim outcomes. The generic ADEME gateway production reference is a proxy, not a manufacturer or model specific measurement.

Production potentially displaced614 kg CO₂eProcessing and transport120 kg CO₂eUse phase difference10 kg CO₂eSigned net difference484 kg CO₂e

A negative net difference indicates additional emissions in the modeled scenario. The service factor scales production linearly and is a scenario simplification.

Processing and transport cover the entire recovery batch, including failed attempts. Use difference compares equivalent service; positive values add reuse emissions and negative values represent modeled use phase savings. Blank inputs are missing, not zero.

Evidence and activity assumptions

SAMPLE-GATEWAYS · Internet gateways

Example quantities and weight demonstrate a supplier report. A live program would need intake, disposition, weight and emissions evidence; the ten units not planned for reuse have no assumed destination.

Interpretation and limits

The comparison assumes some reused products replace production of an equivalent product. It does not prove causation, exclusive attribution to True Aim, or what would have happened without this supplier relationship. Reuse that would have happened elsewhere may yield a different incremental result.

The calculation includes the selected production boundary and entered processing, transport and use phase differences. End-of-life changes, rebound effects and unentered effects are excluded. It is not a full comparative life cycle assessment. Water, plastic and individual metals are not modeled. Keep an item in only one applicable reporting period when aggregating outcomes.

These results are not certified offsets or carbon credits and should not be deducted from Scope 1–3 inventories. The GHG Protocol paper on comparative emissions provides relevant accounting principles; this tool is not endorsed by GHG Protocol, ADEME or the represented manufacturers.
